Bristol law firm donates to youth homelessness charity

Bevan Brittan, a law firm based in Bristol, is providing a financial boost to a local charity dedicated to helping homeless and young people at risk in the South West.

The firm’s Bristol office fundraisers have worked throughout the year to support 1625 Independent People, an organisation preventing youth homelessness in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, and Bath and North East Somerset.

The charity will also receive an additional £25,000 donation, contributing to its services for individuals aged 16 to 25 who are homeless, leaving care, or at risk of homelessness.

Dom Wood, CEO at the charity, said: “We are thrilled to receive this generous donation from Bevan Brittan. The funds will enable us to continue to provide vital specialist mental health support for young people overcoming trauma, as well as activities and 1:1 support to show them they can believe in themselves, and that they have the skills to thrive as an independent adult.”

Fran Mussellwhite, partner and community engagement lead in Bevan Brittan’s Bristol office, said: “We are delighted to be able to make this donation to 1625 Independent People to support the important work they are doing with young people in and around Bristol.

“It has been a real honour to partner with 1625 Independent People this year and to have been able to see first-hand their incredible work in the community. We are acutely aware of the challenges all charities and not-for-profit bodies face in the current economic climate and are proud to be able to provide this additional support this Christmas.”
