Leisure firm adds Torbay seafront hotel to its collection

Leeds-based coach holiday and short break operator Caledonian Leisure, which operates under the Caledonian Travel and UKBreakaways brands, has acquired the Torbay Hotel, in Torquay.

It follows on from its acquisition of The Caledonian Claymore Hotel in Arrochar last year and, more recently, The Caledonian Tower in Blackpool (formerly known as the Liberty’s).

The 111-bedroom flagship hotel on Torquay seafront, is to be rebranded The Caledonian Torbay Hotel. It has long been a firm favourite with Caledonian Travel customers and offers live entertainment in its ballroom.

Graham Rogers, managing director at Caledonian Leisure, said: “Adding The Caledonian Torbay Hotel to our collection is another exciting development for our business as we look to continue the growth of a portfolio of hotels in key UK destinations, following the successful launch of The Caledonian Claymore and Caledonian Tower Hotel.

“The Torbay has always been popular with our customers, with both our Caledonian Travel and UKBreakaways brands enjoying repeat bookings to the hotel year-on-year.

“We look forward to offering a variety of packages to The Caledonian Torbay Hotel through both our own brand channels, digital platforms and established network of travel agents.”
