Property firm taken on to manage city centre scheme

A development of more than 60 new homes in what was once the medieval heart of Bristol city centre is to be managed by Principle Estate Management.

Coopers Court is a collection of one and two-bedroomed apartments developed by Abri Housing Association in an emerging leisure quarter of the Redcliffe area.

This mixed-tenure community is part of the wider Finzels Reach community on the harbourside, with modern homes, offices, cafes, street markets and shops.

The estate management contract for the 66 residences at Coopers Court is the latest that Principle has won from Abri in Bristol. The others include homes in:

  1. Dean Street, in the St Paul’s area
  2. Whitefield Road, on the site of the old Speedwell swimming baths in the north-east of the city
  3. Castle Park View, a high-rise scheme in the city centre
  4. The Old Brewery on North Street, Southville, and
  5. Shackleton Heights in Lockleaze, a suburb in the north of the city.

Bob Simonds, business development director at Principle, said: “We have a very healthy relationship with Abri and their residents and are delighted that this has resulted in another contract win in Bristol.

“We have an established way of working with Abri throughout their design and build process to ensure that all maintenance and service contracts are set up and ready for resident occupancy.

“We have planned the estate management very carefully with Abri’s project managers to ensure high quality levels of professional service for all residents.”

Sean Gill, management company manager at Abri, one of the largest housing providers in the south, said: “This is a fantastic new development in an area that is quickly developing into one of the places to be in Bristol, with great views and excellent access to the city centre.

“Our communities matter, and our focus is always on the quality of our homes, our neighbourhoods and the service we provide.

“We therefore wanted a managing agent with the right experience to make sure our customers have the best support in their new homes.

“The natural choice was Principle Estate Management, as they are already providing a high quality and dependable service to residents in our other new developments across Bristol.”
