London craft bakery comes to Clifton Village
Clifton Village’s newest craft bakery Gail’s is to open next month.
Gail’s has grown out of a small craft chef-led bakery that has been serving top restaurants and food venues for the last 30 years.
Gail’s opened its first neighbourhood bakery in London’s Hampstead Village and is known for its sourdough bread, sweet and savoury bakes, freshly made sandwiches and house-blend speciality coffee.
The bakery in Clifton will champion several South West producers, such as Shipton Mill flour, Quicke’s dairy and biodiversity champions, Wildpress.
Bakery Manager, Jacqueline Lotter-Raines will be leading a team of 20 alongside head bakers, Sophie Small and Tariq Dinnall and Head Barista, Nicola Piorkowski, to welcome residents and visitors of Clifton to 14 Regent Street.
Jacqueline Lotter-Raines, bakery manager at Gail’s Clifton Village said: “The team and I are really looking forward to welcoming everyone through our bakery doors very soon. You can expect freshly baked sourdough, sweet and savoury bakes, sandwiches and house-blend speciality coffee made with the very best ingredients, some of which are sourced just a few miles away.
“Whilst baking is important to us, we’re also committed to supporting our local community, so we’ve chosen Loaves and Fishes and Feed The Homeless as our nominated charities. Through our partnerships, we want to champion the work that these incredible organisations do, so we really are making positive impacts wherever we bake.”
Feed the Homeless is a grassroots charity that has provided frontline homelessness support in Bristol since February 2016.
The aim of the charity is to ensure the provision of hot nutritious meals to the homeless and rough sleeping community in Bristol.
The Five Loaves and Two Fishes Project is run by the Sisters of the Church in St Paul’s Bristol.
Loaves and Fishes give out around 250-300 food parcels per week, as well as hot drinks and sandwiches at its base in Montpelier. As well as food provision, Loaves and Fishes offer admin support and pastoral care to those in need.
Gail’s Clifton Village will be open from 7am until 7pm daily, with the space being available for charities and community groups to use outside of these times.
