New partners announced at South West law firm

Law firm Ashfords has appointed three new partners in its latest rounds of promotions, bringing the total number of partners at the firm to 77 across its Bristol, Exeter and Plymouth offices.

New partners include construction and infrastructure lawyer Lianne Edwards, trusts and estates lawyer Jonathan Hickman and real estate lawyer Ian Ramsay Tompkins.

Lianne specialises in contentious construction matters acting contractors, sub-contractors and developers. Her practice involves advising on claims for delay, acceleration, extensions of time and loss and expense, repudiatory breach of contract, terminations and final account disputes.

Ian specialises in the residential development sector, helping clients at all stages of the development lifecycle, from land purchase through to site set up and disposal.

Jonathan advises on complex private wealth matters including trusts, estate planning & administration and the associated tax and allowance considerations. He also advises on complex wills, powers of attorney and deputyship applications.

The firm’s latest promotion round brings the total number of female partners at the firm to 26 representing 34% of the partnership.

The firm has also welcomed a number of new lateral hires over the last financial year including restructuring and insolvency partner Melissa George, commercial litigation partner Tom Llewellyn, private wealth partner Mike Westbrook and employment partner James Collings.
