Specialist company appoints experienced agricultural expert
South West legal and financial planning firm Mogers Drewett has appointed experienced agriculture lawyer and former tenant farmer Tracy Neal to its growing team.
Tracy joins Mogers Drewett’s specialist agricultural law team as a partner from Battens Solicitors in Dorset, where she was joint head of agriculture and rural property.
There she specialised in high-value, complex transactions involving the sale and purchase of agricultural land, farms and rural estates, as well as advising on farm business tenancies.
Tracy is a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association (ALA) which is the UK’s largest inter-professional organisation devoted to the law and business of agriculture. Fellowship status is considered a “badge of excellence” among those who advise rural businesses and demonstrates in-depth sector knowledge.
Before training as a lawyer, Tracy was a tenant farmer on a mixed farm in Hampshire where she kept cattle and sheep. She is also a former professional showjumper and grew up on the family farm in her native New Zealand.
In addition, Tracy has a small holding where she expresses her love for nature and has created wildlife corridors by planting native hedgerows and has also planted more than 100 trees, with plans to plant another 100. She believes agriculture and habitat creation can work hand in hand when carefully managed.
