Gas mask manufacturer announces change of name

Wiltshire gas mask manufacturer Avon Protection has announced it is to change its name.

The company has confirmed that Avon Protection has been renamed Avon Technologies.

The firm originally started life as Avon Rubber and used to specialise in making milking machines for dairy cattle.

It now specialises in safety and gas masks for police forces and military agencies across the globe.

As announced at the group’s Capital Markets Day in February and again in the group’s interim results in May the board has chosen to change the name of the holding company to Avon Technologies to improve clarity and ensure there is no confusion between the Strategic Business Units (“SBUs”) and the wider group.

This new name recognises Avon’s heritage while embracing the next stage of its development – accelerating growth through innovation in technology.

The two SBU names, Avon Protection and Team Wendy, remain unchanged.

The trading symbol (“AVON”) and ISIN/SEDOL codes for the Company’s ordinary shares listed on the London Stock Exchange remain unchanged.

Shareholdings will be unaffected by the change of name. All existing share certificates that are presently in the hands of investors should be retained as they will remain valid for all purposes and no new share certificates will be issued.
