Corporate finance community tees off for charity

Following a hiatus since the pandemic, the corporate finance community turned out in force to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease and The Brain Tumour Charity.

The golf day is in its 16th year and was held at Bristol Golf Club.

It attracted 74 players turning out from 36 different firms across the financial advisory, private equity, banking and legal corporate finance sectors.

Andy Syvret, a leading banking figure in Santander, was diagnosed with MND in September 2022 and continues to battle and live with the incurable disease.

Meanwhile, the community sadly lost Tony Kenny from Momentum Corporate Finance in June 2021, who was one of the region’s figurehead corporate financiers, following a short illness with a brain tumour.

The event was organised by a committee of Rob Crews Momentum Corporate Finance, Nathan Guest VWV, Alex Garfitt BGF and Peter Abel from Santander, who said: “We were delighted to be able to organise this event again. Raising over £7,000 is a tremendous achievement and takes the total raised since the inception of the event to over £60,000.

“We hope to hold an even larger event next year to try and beat this year’s record level of fundraising.”
