Final phase of Taunton housing scheme approved

A 90-home scheme has been given planning permission, which will mark the end of development at a site in Taunton.
The Hartnells Farm housing development, at the northern edge of the Monkton Heathfield urban extension, will have 320 homes when it is fully completed.
Outline planning permission for the 39-acre scheme was first granted in 2015.
Persimmon Homes South West and its sister company, Charles Church, will start work on site soon after the development was approved by Somerset Council. 22 homes will be reserved for a local housing association.
Dan Heathcote, managing director of Persimmon Homes South West, said: “Persimmon is very proud of the work we have done so far at Hartnells Farm and we are delighted to have finally secured permission to complete our vision for the new community we have helped build there.
“This latest planning permission means we are now one step closer to bringing more new, high-quality homes to the area, opening up the dream of home-ownership to even more local people, addressing housing need in the Taunton area.”
