Vistry and Abri partner again for new Somerset scheme

Vistry and Abri have partnered again to deliver 68 affordable homes in Somerset.

The latest project follows their recent announcement of a partnership in Oxfordshire that will deliver 116 affordable homes.

Vistry has already secured planning permission for the Somerset site, which is located in the village of Langford. With Abri’s own funding and additional grant funding from its Strategic Partnership with Homes England (the government’s housing delivery agency), the development will be delivered as a 100% affordable housing scheme.

The site was acquired from Edward Ware Homes, who helped to secure the planning permission.

Susan Scholfield, regional managing director of Vistry Bristol, said: “Thanks to our long-term partnership with Abri we can maximise the delivery of affordable housing on this new development in Langford. Both of our organisations are committed to providing high-quality, mixedtenure homes that offer local people the full range of housing choices, and together we’re building many hundreds of new homes.”

Phillippa Yeates, head of land and planning at Abri, said: “Working in partnership with Vistry and North Somerset Council, we’re able to deliver much-needed affordable homes. By offering a mix of social and affordable rent alongside shared ownership options, we’re providing greater opportunities for individuals and families to access affordable housing and to take their first step onto the housing ladder. Abri is committed to delivering 10,000 homes by 2030 and here in Langford, our goal is to not only provide high-quality homes but also to enhance the local community with improved facilities that will help it to grow and thrive.”
