Law firm welcomes back property litigation partner

As it continues to grow across the region, with offices in Truro, Exeter and Taunton, South West law firm Stephens Scown sees a familiar face returning to further boost its existing property disputes offer.
Having started her career at the firm as a trainee in 2003, qualifying into the litigation team in 2005, Helen Williams rejoins Stephens Scown’s Exeter office as partner in the property litigation team.
Bringing with her a wealth of experience in all aspects of commercial property and the rural sector, Williams will be advising clients on property restrictive covenants, easements, dilapidations, boundaries, title insurance litigation, and actual or contemplated landlord and tenant litigation.
The firm said her background will enhance Stephens Scown’s property litigation service led by Richard Bagwell.
Williams said: “It was the only firm in the South West that I would have entertained a move to. I have extremely fond memories of my eight years with the firm.
“I have followed the firm since leaving and it has been great to see its exponential success across the region, including the opening of an office in Somerset. The firm has an incredibly high profile across the South West region, known for its expertise and breadth of knowledge
in a vast number of sectors, and its genuine immersion in the communities it serves. I am attracted to its B Corp status and the opportunities that brings, plus its employee-owned status.”
Managing partner Richard Baker said: “Helen will be a terrific addition to the team and help further raise the quality of our Property Litigation offer across the region and further afield. Her experience and knowledge of the firm from her training period and early career will be of enormous benefit both to the business and the clients we serve. I’m pleased to see her return to Stephens Scown, and I know she’s going to do great things.”
