Date for final consultation on regeneration plans for St Austell scheme announced

Developer Treveth has announced the date for the third and final consultation on emerging regeneration plans for its St Austell development.
The company is inviting the local community in St Austell to have their say on proposed plans for the Penwinnick Road redevelopment.
The proposed plans will create a new mixed-use neighbourhood. Set within an established tree-lined border, the scheme will comprise one, two, three and four bedroom homes and apartments.
Designs for the scheme will be shaped by feedback from the community and stakeholders prior to the submission of a planning application for the site in late May 2025.
Emma Rodgers, head of land and planning at Treveth, said: “We’re pleased to announce our third and final public consultation event for the Penwinnick Road development will be held on Tuesday 29th April.
“We received valuable feedback from members of the public who attended our previous drop-in sessions and we’re looking forward to communicating how this feedback has helped us shape the future of this key site. Our plans for this mixed-use development will improve community spaces and provide new, much-needed homes for local people, alongside incorporating commercial space which will boost the economy.
“We’re looking forward to meeting with local residents again and giving those who couldn’t attend the previous events one last chance to meet with the Treveth team and ask any questions they may have. Display boards will be available to view which give a sense of what the new neighbourhood could look like, and our team will be on hand with more information about the types of homes that will be coming. You can also find out more about Treveth’s approach to sustainability and its ethos for delivering homes for local people where they are much needed.”
The site at Penwinnick Road was acquired by Treveth from Cornwall Council in Autumn 2023.
Founded by Cornwall Council in 2019, Treveth has over 370 homes under construction, over 45 commercial units across 10 sites under management and 700 homes in planning or recently consented.
The informal drop-in session will be held on Tuesday 29th April, from 2pm to 7pm at the Pondhu Children’s Centre, Dithmarschen Way, St Austell, PL25 5DS.
Members of the public will have the opportunity to submit their feedback at the event or complete an online questionnaire at www.treveth.co.uk/penwinnick-rd-final.
The consultation website and questionnaire will be live from 29th April to 9th May 2025.
