Developer snaps up former Siemens site

Kingsbridge Estates has bought the Sopers Lane site in Poole

Developer Kingsbridge Estates has bought a 10.7-acre site in Poole from Siemens for £7.75m.

Siemens had been at Sopers Lane for more than 30 years, but divested its transport systems business, Yunex Traffic, in 2021.

Kingsbridge will now work with the current occupiers and local stakeholders to bring forward proposals for a phased development of the site.

The Sopers Lane site sits inside an employment zone in the Poole Local Plan.

Chris Fry, chief executive of Sussex-based Kingsbridge Estates, said: “We are excited about the Sopers Lane site and its potential for a phased redevelopment to support local employment and contribute positively to the local economy.

“This acquisition is in line with our mission to create sustainable schemes that help meet high levels of demand for quality commercial space across the South.”

Kingsbridge Estates was advised by DTRE and Freeths, while CBRE and Osborne Clarke advised former owners Siemens Plc.
