Two paralegals with Bristol law firm Clarke Willmott have been named finalists in a national awards.

Victoria Day, a court of protection executive at the firm, has been shortlisted in two categories – Paralegal of the Year, South; and the overall National Paralegal of the Year category.

Victoria joined Clarke Willmott in 2018 and provides assistance supporting individuals who are unable to manage their own financial affairs.

Grace Bryant, also a paralegal in the court of protection team, has been shortlisted in the Best Newcomer/Young Practitioner of the Year category. She joined the firm in November 2021.

Anthony Fairweather, head of the team, said: “I am extremely proud that they have been nominated. They both fulfil demanding roles within the team and it is fitting that they have been recognised for all the hard work they put in supporting extremely vulnerable clients.”

The National Paralegal Awards 2023, now in its fifth year, promotes the work and achievements of paralegals in the UK and will take place on 14th September 2023 at the iconic Grand Hotel, Birmingham.

Organised by the voluntary regulator for paralegals, the Professional Paralegal Register, the awards feature 13 individual and five business categories, reflecting the diversity of a paralegal’s role within the legal sector, and the services they provide.

Clarke Willmott chief executive Peter Swinburn said: “We are delighted that two of our paralegals are finalists in these prestigious awards.

“Without the hard work and dedication of our paralegals the legal system simply would not work, so to recognise and celebrate their achievements, and the role they play within our teams and on behalf of our clients, is fantastic.

“I’m wishing both Victoria and Grace the best of luck in September.”
