Law firm continues growth in Bristol with partner hire

Professional services business Knights has hired a new partner in Bristol – adding a food, drink and hospitality specialist as the business continues its growth across the South West.

Melissa Haskell has joined the team in Bristol and brings a huge amount of experience as an expert in regulatory and licensing law, specialising in the food and drink industry.

She is a solicitor advocate with experience of both defence and prosecution work in all courts, helping a wide range of independent operators, breweries, large chain restaurants and hotels to navigate detailed and complex regulations.

Haskell regularly appears before licensing committees and magistrates courts nationwide for matters of investigation or prosecution regarding trading standards, health & safety, noise nuisance, food safety or fire safety, which all affect licensed premises.

Haskell said: “I feel it is an incredibly exciting time to join Knights, our Bristol team continues to have significant growth and we are quickly building a reputation in the city.

“With its reputation for providing an excellent and innovative service to clients coupled with focus on its people, Knights has a culture where everyone can thrive, directly mirroring my own values and commitment.

“I look forward to leveraging my legal expertise and relationships with other partners, colleagues and contacts to maximise our growth and success.”

James Christacos, client services director at Knights, said: “Melissa’s arrival is a fantastic indication of the reputation we’re building here in Bristol and the region.

“When we arrived in Bristol earlier this year, our ambition was to add even more talented professionals to our team. Melissa is the latest new face helping is to deliver on that ambition.

“We’re not slowing down. We want even more talent to join our team, so get in touch if you want to join an exciting, growing business with a national team of professionals.”
