Bathroom specialist signs up to new site after £1m investment

Specialist bathroom supplier Premier Care in Bathing has signed up to 77,000 sq ft in what is thought to be one of the biggest lettings in Redditch in recent years.

Property agents John Truslove sealed the deal for the site at Padgets Lane, South Moons Moat.

Landlords Evenacre have invested £1m in a refurbishment of the site, and Premier Care signed up before work had been completed on site.

Part of the Mobility Group, Premier Care supplies walk-in baths and easy-access showers. It acquired the Cassellie bathroom equipment group last year in a £17.5m deal as part of its expansion programme.

It has operations already in Redditch, but the new site will allow the company to consolidate smaller sites into a central office and storage facility. Assembly work will also take place there.

Ben Truslove, joint managing director at John Truslove, said: “‘I am delighted that the ambition and nous demonstrated by Paul Jones and the team at Evenacre has been rewarded with a letting to a strong covenant on a straight ten year term. We are actively searching for the next opportunity of this type.”

Paul Jones, managing director of Evenacre, said: “We are delighted with our new tenant and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with them. No-one knows the Redditch property market like the John Truslove team, and it was a pleasure to work with them again.”

“The speed with which the unit was snapped up underlines the high demand for quality warehousing and commercial space in and around Redditch,” said Mr Jones.

John Truslove has also negotiated the sale of the Hewell Road site to local businessman and Redditch Council leader Matt Dormer.

The interlinked deals were co-ordinated by Ben Truslove of John Truslove, with JLL acting as joint agents at Padgets Lane.
