Former West Midlands police site to become housing scheme

Spitfire Homes has acquired a 1.6-acre site on Rose Road in Harborne, formerly occupied by West Midlands Police.

The housebuilder plans to develop the site into a mix of townhouses and apartments featuring modern interiors.

Matt Vincent, operations director at Spitfire Homes, said: “Building on the success of nearby Beaufort, Rose Road enables Spitfire to deliver more premium properties in one of the city’s most sought-after addresses.

“Following the strong demand we experienced with Beaufort, it’s clear that buyers are looking for high-quality homes in statement addresses, and the acquisition of Rose Road allows us to deliver exactly that. We are confident this will be another standout addition to our Bespoke Collection portfolio.”

Avison Young marketed the site alongside Ogle Property.

Joe Williams, director at Avison Young said: “When Avison Young was presented with the opportunity to market Rose Road, we anticipated significant interest from several parties. Harborne continues to be a highly sought-after location, thanks to the attractive mix of amenities and ever-growing lifestyle options.”

Alfred Bartlett from Ogle Property said: “Spitfire Homes are highly regarded for their expertise in delivering high-quality residences across the Midlands, and the addition of Rose Road to their portfolio certainly feels like an ideal match. We look forward to watching the development progress and the creation of a statement new address.”
