Administrators called in at Staffordshire cladding firm

ADMINISTRATORS from PwC have been called in at failed Staffordshire cladding firm Parry Bowen after it ceased trading.
Last week, the company announced it was closing after 20 years in business, despite it landing a contract to work on the 2012 athletes’ village in London.
Now Matthew Hammond and Mark Hopkins, of PwC’s Birmingham office, and Leicestershire-based Eddie Williams have been appointed joint administrators of Parry Bowen, which employed 150 people and was based at Burntwood business Park, near Cannock.
PwC said: “The appointment of administrators comes as a result of cash flow difficulties the company has faced which culminated in the decision to make the majority of the workforce redundant (earlier in October).”
Mr Hammond added: “Parry Bowen is a Staffordshire building cladding specialist that has been established for over 20 years and which has unfortunately been severely affected by the ongoing difficulties that continue to affect the construction sector.
“We are currently exploring strategic options in respect of the companies’ assets and are working to secure interest in the assets of the business.”
