Dudley splits £15m roads contract three ways

DUDLEY Metropolitan Council has signed up three highways surfacing contractors for improvement programmes this year.

Birmingham-based Kiely Bros will share out the work packages covering a range of surface treatment work with JPCS and Colas.

The work includes microsurfacing, surface dressing, retreading and slurry seal to carriageways and footways in a total packed expected to be worth £15m over the next five years.

Dudley’s resurfacing framework will also be extended for a further five years if the agreements are successful.

Peter Shone, managing director at JPCS, said: “We’ve been developing innovative surfacing solutions for more than 30 years and are pleased to be able to offer Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council specialist and sustainable treatments for its highways and footpaths which will save both time and money, and minimise disruption for the residents.”
