A high five for Mansell in Warwickshire

THE Stourbridge-based western region of Mansell has clinched five major construction projects for Warwickshire County Council worth nearly £4m.

The projects, in Alcester, Nuneaton and Stratford-upon-Avon. involve four schools and a fire station.

Mansell is working on a substantial contract to upgrade and refurbish Alcester Fire Station. The £430,000 project in Seggs Lane is being carried out on behalf of Warwickshire County Council and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Also in Alcester, Mansell has been carrying out a £436,000 refurbishment project at Alcester High School in Gerard Road. The work involved remodelling existing classrooms to create food technology and textiles areas, and the installation of a lift shaft for disabled access.

In Stratford-upon-Avon, Mansell is carrying out work valued at £1.8m at Bridgetown Primary School in Byron Road. The project, due for completion in July, involves a two storey extension to create new teaching areas and remodelling existing classrooms to create a nursery.

Meanwhile in Nuneaton, Mansell has been appointed to build four new classrooms and studio and extend existing classrooms and a car park at Camp Hill Primary School. The £1.1m project is due for completion in August. Also in Nuneaton, extension and alteration work is being carried out by Mansell at Wembrook Primary School in Avenue Road.

All five projects are being delivered through the East Midland Property Alliance (EMPA) minor works framework, of which Warwickshire County Council is a member.

Stuart Rogers, Mansell’s western region divisional manager for construction, said: “Mansell has developed a strong track record and valuable expertise in this kind of work, which involves close consultation with staff and building occupiers to shape the vision of the new environment and deliver a construction experience that is positive and engaging.”
