Halls helps graduate surveyors

WORCESTER-based property consultants Halls has helped two graduates get off to a promising start in their property careers having recently qualified as chartered surveyors.

Tom Pike and Naomi Bloxham joined Halls as graduate surveyors after gaining degrees in Rural Enterprise and Land Management at Harper Adams University College. Both have recently completed their formal training within Halls’ rural team and are now fully-fledged chartered surveyors.
 
Paul Bowness, associate partner in Halls’ rural team, said: “We saw great potential in these two graduates. They have proven to be key members of the rural team and we are very pleased to have been able to assist them in becoming professionally qualified.”

Halls provides specialist land and property consultancy services to a wide range of clients throughout Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and the wider Midlands region.

Claire helps Turley cope with community engagement

PLANNING and urban design consultancy Turley Associates has promoted Claire Cope to Associate Director.  She also heads up Turley Associates’ community engagement service, Plan to Engage.

Cope joined Turley Associates in 2006 and has been promoted on three separate occasions.

In her role as head of Plan to Engage Cope has led some significant community engagement programmes across the UK, including the States of Guernsey Harbour Master Plan for St Peter Port Harbour and St Sampson’s Harbour where she has led a four-stage, eight-month engagement programme. The project is estimated to be worth over £400m and is set to have a major affect on island’s commercial operations, tourism industry and local communities.

Tree planting helps cement Langley Point’s green credentials

The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Cllr John Lines, who was on a visit to Langley Point, off Bath Row, was among those taking part.

The new 44,350 sq ft, self-contained, BREEAM-excellent rated office building is the only one of its size and type in Birmingham city centre.

To mark the opening, five trees have been planted in St Thomas’s Peace Garden, which is overlooked by Langley Point.

The event was organised by Bizmove, in conjunction with Birmingham Trees for Life (BTFL) – a joint initiative between the Birmingham Civic Society and Birmingham City Council.

Built to the highest calibre specification, the  Langley Point uses the latest eco-technologies and is designed to keep running and maintenance costs to a minimum, with passive chilled beam cooling, solar heated water technology and 98% efficient boilers.
