Cathedral Plaza grand design set to go on display in Worcester

THE new owner of a Worcester shopping centre is to put plans for the redevelopment of the facility on public display.

Salmon Harvester Opportunity Fund, the owner of Cathedral Plaza, will be mounting the display next month prior to a planning application for the scheme being submitted.

The exhibition, which will be staffed by members of the Salmon Harvester team on the first day, is being mounted to give residents and businesses in the city centre, as well as visitors, the opportunity to understand the proposals and provide comments.  Feedback will be considered by the team prior to the final scheme being submitted to Worcester City Council.

The plans will be on display at Unit 20, Cathedral Plaza from Thursday May 1, between 2-7pm, until May 7.

Nick Webb, of Salmon Harvester Opportunity Fund, said: “We’re excited about our proposals for Cathedral Plaza and the possibility of creating a new public square for Worcester, and we hope the city is too. We look forward to seeing everyone with an interest in the city centre on May 1.”

Salmon Harvester Opportunity Fund bought Cathedral Plaza in February 2013.  The Opportunity Fund was established to fill the gap between the prime, standing investments that NFU Mutual buys on its own account, and the higher risk development projects of Salmon Harvester, which is itself a joint venture with Salmon Developments.

To date it has purchased assets across all sectors, with sites in Kingston-upon-Thames, Oxford, Birmingham, Deeside, Reading, Droitwich and Ashford.
