University management centre undergoes £300,000 facelift

A £300,000 investment is set to boost facilities for business travellers at Keele University’s Management Centre.
The centre, which provides accommodation and meeting rooms for conference and event delegates at the university, will undergo a full renovation of its 18 bedrooms.
Much of the work is already under way and set for completion next month. When finished, all rooms will have enhanced en-suite shower facilities, ample workspace, and upgraded in-room entertainment in the form of large flat screen TVs. This, along with the free Wi-Fi and ground floor lounge bar already on offer, is intended to cater for the needs of all delegates.
Marcus Wilson, head of marketing at Keele University, said: “With the summer months a busy time for conferences at Keele University, now is a great time to invest in facilities at Keele Management Centre.”
One of the first large groups to make use of the facelift will be the organising committee for the UK Corporate Games, who will be resident while the Games are held at Keele University and other venues around Staffordshire in June this year.
“The quality and additional comfort of these upgrades adds to the convenience of being on the doorstep of the university campus and the 19th-Century Grade II listed conference venue Keele Hall, in the heart of the Staffordshire countryside on the Keele University campus,” he added.
The centre has been hosting events at Keele Hall for the past decade and it said the new look Management Centre added to the award-winning facilities across campus.
“These will allow us to stay very competitive in an increasingly impressive academic venues industry. Continually investing in the facilities across campus, which can host a wide range of conferences and events from day meetings and weddings to company AGMs, is vital if we are to stay ahead of the pack,” said Wilson.
“As an academic venue we are fortunate that profit can be directly re-invested into the university to improve the facilities and experience as well as expertise of the staff. This means we’re constantly improving.”
