Property consultancy undergoes rebrand

PROPERTY consultancy GVA Grimley is to undergo a rebrand next year – nearly 200 years after it was founded in Birmingham by Horatio N Grimley.
As of next month, it will become simply ‘GVA’ as part of what the firm is calling “a major rebrand launch to its entire UK business” intended to mark a new chapter in the history of the company.
Other changes include adopting a new company logo and a focus on five key values such as growth and innovation.
Rob Bould, chief executive of GVA Grimley and former head of investment in the Birmingham office, said: “As the markets start to recover, we as a company face an exciting opportunity to build our position in the UK market.
“We’re confident, through our strong trading performance over the past few years coupled with our clear business strategy going forward, that we can become a top five UK property consultant.
“Our rebrand and name-change is part of that process as we look to deliver a consistency that is seamless throughout the business.”
GVA Grimley’s roots go back 190 years to H.N Grimley and Son, founded in Bennetts Hill in Birmingham, eventually becoming GVA Grimley in 1998.
Along the way, it has merged with Frank Smith and Wilson, in 1957, and in 1975 paid the highest rent in Birmingham city centre for its new offices in St Philips Place – £3 per square foot.
Its Birmingham office is now in Brindleyplace and it is one of 12 working alongside the London HQ.
