Deadline fast approaching for construction awards

THE deadline for an annual awards scheme recognising achievements in the construction industry is just over a week away.

Ten prizes are on offer at the 2011 Constructing Excellence Awards, which is organised by the West Midlands Centre for Constructing Excellence, Birmingham City Council and Chartered Institute of Building’s West Midlands branch.

The categories are: integration and collaborative working; sustainability; SME; health and safety; innovation; value; leadership and people development; achiever’s award; client of the year and project of the year.

The awards are open to everyone in the construction supply chain, from clients and designers to construction companies of all sizes.

Scooping a regional award could also provide a platform to securing national acclaim as West Midlands winners qualify for entry into the National Constructing Excellence Awards.

Among the sponsors is the University of Wolverhampton which is supporting the innovation award for the second year running.

Deadline for entries is January 14 and the awards ceremony takes place on July 1 at the ICC, in Birmingham. For details visit wmcce.org/awards.
