Property projects line up for 2011 RICS awards

NINETEEN property and construction projects from across the West Midlands will be judged in one of the country’s most prestigious industry awards schemes.

Judges will spend the next few weeks sifting through the entries to the 2011 Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Awards before making site visits and announcing a full West Midlands shortlist in April.

Among those from region to have entered are Goldfinger House, in Shirley, the Gatehouse at Stokesay Castle in south Shropshire and the transformation of the Royal Shakespeare and Swan Theatres, in Stratford.

Across the UK, 236 entries were received by RICS for the four prize categories – building conservation, regeneration, sustainability and community benefit.
