Safety sector giant snaps up Uniline

WORCESTERSHIRE manufacturer Uniline Safety Systems has been acquired for an undisclosed sum by Capital Safety Group, the Milton Keynes-based global manufacture of height safety equipment.

The corporate team of the Birmingham office of Shakespeare Putsman advised on the sale, which is its largest value transaction so far this year.

Capital is one of the world’s leading fall protection systems suppliers and the company said Uniline will play a key role in the development of its products.

Uniline offers a variety of products and services catering to the fall protection market and operates through specialist safety companies in more 25 countries, with key customers in the wind energy, utilities, marine and roof top sectors.

Founded in 2000, Uniline has 38 employees and is based in Redditch, with additional offices in Australia.

Shakespeare Putsman’s team was led by corporate partner Keith Spedding, who said: “Uniline Safety Systems has been a longstanding client of the firm.  Our intellectual property team has worked with them on a number of instructions.

“The company has built a substantial reputation around the world for delivering excellence in the design, manufacture and sale of engineered fall protection systems and the deal allows Uniline to move on to the next stage in its development.”

Capital CEO Anders Pettersson said: ” Uniline has succeeded in developing relationships with key customers in strategically important segments to Capital Safety Group and has established specifications for their products around the world. Adding Uniline to Capital Safety Group will be a large step forward for our European business and add key solutions and additional expertise around the world.”

Uniline owner and chief executive Simon Luke said: “Our success has been built on our technical knowledge, expertise and customer service. By joining Capital Safety, we have more opportunities to keep workers safe, localise supply and further develop innovative product and service offerings, to continue to meet the needs of our customers and achieve the aspirations we have for the business.”
