Chamber tries hard to resolve conference centre problem

COVENTRY & Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce is relocating its conference centre after previous facilities were absorbed.

The chamber’s previous conference centre was situated in Oak Tree Court but it lost use of these facilities when these facilities were taken over by the Coventry Building Society.

The new centre is based at the Butts Park Arena, home of Coventry Rugby Club.

The chamber hosts hundreds of events a year and its said the city centre location of Butts Park Arena, combined with 200 car park spaces, would enhance the appeal of the venue to businesses and other organisations.

Louise Bennett, the chamber’s chief executive, said: “We have been known for many years for providing high quality conference and meeting facilities, and we believe this is a real step forward.

“The Butts Park Arena has great facilities and is superbly located and we can host meetings and conferences from eight to 200 people.

“We have a very experienced conference team and are confident we can help drive the business forward.”

The Butts Park Arena has 11 rooms available for hire from one hour to a whole day. There are also full AV and IT facilities on site.

Chris Gregory, of Coventry Rugby Club, said: “We have over the last two years started to bring the club back to the heart of the community and we have traditionally had very strong links with local and regional business.

“We have a very good facility at Butts Park Arena, and this collaboration will see it being used far more extensively for the benefit of the club, the chamber and our customers.”
