Warwick Racecourse set for glitz and glamour event

Alice Linley, from The Jockey Club prepares for the Think Pink Warwick Ladies Night at Warwick Racecourse

Warwick Racecourse will be hoping for a bumper crowd when it stages on of its most popular meets of the year.

The Think Pink Warwick Ladies Night, which takes place tomorrow (Saturday) is the second instalment of the Warwick May Racing Carnival.

Warwick’s sole twilight fixture of the season, the meet will be raising funds for the charity Marie Curie. Gates open at 3.30pm, ahead of the first race at 5.30pm, with the final race starting at 8.30pm.

Entertainment will include live music throughout the day – which will also continue after the racing, a cocktail bar and a best dressed competition.

Exclusive tables in the Glitz and Glamour Paddock Pavilion, situated opposite the parade ring, have been made available and these will feature blackjack and roulette tables before the racing begins.

Andre Klein, general manager at Warwick Racecourse, said: “We’re really excited about the Think Pink Warwick Ladies Night – tickets have been selling really well, and it’s set to be a fantastic evening.

“Ladies and gents are being encouraged to dress to impress and give our judges a tough job picking the best dressed competition that we’ve lined up.

“This is our penultimate fixture of the season, and our only evening raceday of the campaign, and as such is one of our most popular events in the calendar.”

The final fixture of the second Warwick May Racing Carnival – which will also be the last raceday of the season – is the Proudly Warwick Meeting on Thursday, May 25.
