Birmingham manufacturer Norton Fluid Power has moved into a 21,000 sq ft facility with the support of a £350,000 funding package.

Norton has relocated to Stechford from Digbeth, where it has been for the last 18 years.

It has increased its capacity by 40%, which it expects to deliver a 20% increase in turnover in the next year.

Peter Andrews, managing director of Norton Fluid Power, believed the lack of space was “limiting our growth prospects”.

He said: “The increased space will enable us to continue to improve the service that we offer clients. As a result of the move we’ve been able to take on new contracts and expand the range of products and services.”

The funding has been provided by Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking and consists of a £350,000 loan and working capital facility.

Norton employs 35 people making hydraulic and pneumatic systems and its clients include Caterpillar, GKN and Thwaites.

Mark Harnett, relationship manager for manufacturing in the Midlands at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, said: “Norton Fluid Power is a family run firm whose drive and ambition has led them to build relationships with world-leading brands.

“The move to the new site will enable the company to build on this success further, as well as creating more jobs for people in the local area.”
