A Birmingham GP practice is to extend and renovate its premises after securing a new finance deal.

Pound Road Surgery in Druids Heath has been serving the local community for more than 40 years. It plans to use the six-figure agreement from HSBC to create additional space so it can accommodate new patients.

The renovation works include a new doctor’s examination room, wheelchair access from the front door entrance to the reception desk and a fully refurbished and enlarged patient area, which includes new seating and a new television, creating more space for waiting patients.

Dr Paramjeet Dhillon, partner at the Pound Road Surgery, said: “Our number one priority is to ensure all our patients are receiving the best care and advice possible when they come to the surgery, which is why it was so important to us that we make these changes.

“With the help of HSBC, the changes made have really helped make the surgery a more welcoming place with a livelier environment.”

Stephen Peart, HSBC’s Area Director for Business Banking in the Black Country & Shropshire, said: “We are extremely pleased we have been able to help Dr Dhillon, Dr Aneja and Dr Anand expand their premises and make it a more patient friendly environment.

“The surgery is a major part of the community and we’re looking forward to seeing the surgery blossom and continue its excellent care for patients.”
