Chinese-backed residential development revealed for Digbeth

Plans for more than 500 apartments in Digbeth have been revealed.
A planning application has been submitted for Lunar Rise, a development with a 25-storey tower on the former Renault site on High Street.
It replaces the ambitious “Hanging Gardens of Digbeth” designed by London-based Architects of Invention that was published earlier this year.

Lunar Rise is backed by Prosperous Global China (PGC), which is also an investor in The Jewel Quarter, a 77-bed apartment development in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
The Lunar Rise complex proposes 263 one-bedroom, 252 two-bedroom and two three-bedroom apartments.
If approved, construction could start in early 2018.
