International law firm trebles Birmingham office

International law firm Hogan Lovells is trebling the size of its Birmingham office.

It opened its legal services centre in Birmingham in January 2015 as an extension to its London office, providing a more cost-effective option.

The firm is taking over the whole of the 23,388 sq ft, eighth floor at The Colmore Building in the city centre. It currently occupies 7,620 sq ft of space on the tenth floor.

Michael Gallimore at Hogan Lovells, said “taking more space here was a natural choice”.

“We’re pleased to be reconfirming our commitment to The Colmore Building as our Birmingham base,” he said.

AshbyCapital, the property investment advisory company, has also let 4,901 sq ft to 3PB Barristers while an unnamed tenant has extended the lease on its office space for a further six years.

“It is enormously satisfying to see our existing tenants thriving here and new ones choosing to move here,” said Peter Ferrari, chief executive at AshbyCapital.

“A tenant extending its lease and an occupier choosing to move to a larger space within the building are fantastic votes of confidence in the improvements we’ve made and amenities we’ve added, which make this such a great place to work.”
