Serviced office provider acquires lease on Stratford-upon-Avon property

Elizabeth House

Former local government offices in Stratford-upon-Avon have been acquired on a long let by serviced office company Exeid in an undisclosed deal.

The ground floor suite within Elizabeth House, home to Stratford-upon-Avon District Council, was previously used by Warwickshire County Council staff.

Exeid is run by Stratford-upon-Avon businessman Simon Harrison. The Stratford-upon-Avon operation is affiliated to the main Exeid Group, a commercial property consultancy specialising in the serviced office market, dealing with large, global businesses as well as SMEs.

The group has more than 400 clients in offices in Leicester, Watford, Bristol, Norwich, Birmingham, London, and primarily Nottingham which is where the company is based.

Mr Harrison said: “Stratford has been crying out for a facility like this. It was perfect timing for us that Elizabeth House came on the market; being the right size with facilities for over 100 people and in the town centre.”

The premises, on Church Street, are undergoing a fit-out with a full launch planned for later in the year. However, suites are expected to be available for occupancy by the end of October.

Mr Harrison said: “We are confident this is going to be highly successful and an important addition to the Stratford-upon-Avon business landscape. Elizabeth House is a landmark building and this was an opportunity not to be missed.”

James Carver, of SDL Bigwood’s Commercial Agency, which marketed the property, said: “Being in the centre, on the edge of the main retail area, and recently refurbished, Elizabeth House was a very desirable proposition. Exeid is a respected name and Simon knows the local market well.

“The deal came together quite quickly once Exeid expressed interest.”

Staff from Warwickshire County Council’s children’s services and adult care departments moved into Elizabeth House in 2012, vacating six properties elsewhere in the county in a bid to reduce costs.
