Property investors targeted as quintet of care homes is brought to market

Auctioneers are targeting property and healthcare investors after receiving the go ahead to sell a clutch of care homes across the West Midlands.

SDL Auctions Bigwood has accumulated five former care homes of various sizes which it is listing among the lots of its next auction on October 18.

The most impressive is a six-bedroomed detached bungalow at 120 Lichfield Road in Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield (pictured), which has a guide price in excess of £410,000.

The quintet also features two properties in Rugby; May Day House, an end-of-terrace property made up of eight bedsits, with a guide price in excess of £250,000, and 2a Earl Street, a two-bedroomed, linked detached house, with a guide price of £145,000.

The fourth home is a four-bedroomed, semi-detached house at 123 Waterloo Road in Wolverhampton, which has a guide price in excess of £115,000.

The final property is a four-bedroomed, detached house called New Pilgrims Cottage at Basford, Stoke on Trent, which has a guide price in excess of £178,000.

Gurpreet Bassi, head of residential auctions at SDL Auctions, said: “All five of these former care homes would make ideal investment opportunities to be redeveloped as residential properties, subject to planning permission.”
