Former country club set for new lease of life

A disused country club in Staffordshire is set for a new lease of life as a new joint arts centre and children’s nursery.
Commercial property agents Bond Wolfe has let the Kingsbury Country Club in Tamworth to Wings Family on a 10-year lease at £30,000 per annum on behalf of a local landlord.
The new tenant has plans to turn half of the property into a performing arts centre, converting the other half into a day nursery.
Richard Horwell, commercial property agent at West Bromwich-based Bond Wolfe, said: “Kingsbury Country Club has been sitting unused for over 12 months now and we are delighted that this property will be reignited and put to a meaningful use.
“The tenants have exciting plans to turn this once popular venue back into a multi functioning destination.”
Wings Family helps people of all ages, regardless of gender or ability, to improve their understanding and appreciation of the arts.
The business began in 2015 running a performing arts session for children, which subsequently grew into a choir and acting development workshops.
Amy Hope, managing director of Wings Family, said: “As the business continued to grow, we started our search for a permanent home at the beginning of 2017.
“When we saw Kingsbury Country Club, we knew that this was the property for us.”
