Business community invited to cathedral carol concerts

Carols at St Philip’s Cathedral

City centre workers are being invited to get into the Christmas spirit at a series of carol services being held at Birmingham Cathedral.

The ‘Carols for the Business Community’ services, hosted by ChaplaincyPlus, feature beautifully orchestrated music, a short, engaging talk and mince pies.

The services take place at St Philip’s Cathedral at 1pm and 5.45pm on Wednesday (December 13).

This year’s speaker at Birmingham Cathedral is Krish Kandiah, the founder of Home for Good; a movement of individuals and churches who believe that every child should have a safe and loving home where they can thrive. Krish is an internationally renowned author and speaker and will bring a fresh perspective to the Christmas story.

Singing will be accompanied by the cathedral pipe organ and the Barclays Bank Brass Band.

ChaplaincyPlus is a Christian charitable trust formed in 2003. It provides a confidential listening service and inspiring business events for the Birmingham business community, irrespective of faith.

Steve Bavington, of ChaplaincyPlus said: “There’s nothing quite like the sound of carol singing; it exudes warmth, hope, beauty, wonder and with the right instrumental accompaniment perhaps a sense of nostalgic longing.

“Each of these one-hour gatherings features carols, interesting talks and all-important mince pies.

“The ChaplaincyPlus team heartily invites you to join us at one of these 60-minute gatherings. The more, the merrier!”
