Student accommodation firm agrees new lease deal

AG Dunedin has secured a tenant to for the top floor of its recently refurbished Charles House in Birmingham city centre.

The full 3,560 sq ft eighth floor has been let to student accommodation firm, Student Roost, on a five-year term. Quoting rents for Charles House are £16.50 per sq ft.

Charles House is part of a portfolio of buildings acquired by AG Dunedin in 2015 and is the second to have undergone a comprehensive refurbishment, receiving improvements and upgrades to its common areas, reception and office suites.

Gordon Kellie, of AG Dunedin, said: “The scope and appeal of Charles House and the wider Great Charles Street Estate has really been underlined through this latest letting. The estate is demonstrating its continued appeal to occupiers working in a range of different sectors who are seeking high quality, well located space.”

Student Roost is a UK manager and developer of purpose-built student accommodation and currently houses more than 11,000 students across its 28 properties throughout the UK with seven further sites under development.

Joint letting agents for Great Charles Street are GVA, LSH and Savills.

Great Charles Street Estate is a collection of six buildings situated on an island site framed by Newhall Street, Lionel Street, Summer Row and fronting Great Charles Street Queensway.

One of its main attractions is its strong location adjacent to the Paradise redevelopment.
