Savills completes relocation to prime new city centre offices

55 Colmore Row

Real estate advisor Savills has completed the relocation of its Birmingham offices to 55 Colmore Row.

The move follows the firm’s significant expansion in the city with the acquisition of GBR Phoenix Beard in 2016 and will see all 156 staff based under one roof for the first time.

Savills, which previously occupied space at Innovation Court and The Exchange, has agreed a new 15-year lease for the 16,956 sq ft (1,575 sq m) top floor of the property.

The fit out and relocation was managed by Savills building and project consultancy team, working with refurbishment specialist Overbury and office interior design practice Square Dot.

Simon Farrant, head of Savills Birmingham, said: “The quality, scale and prime location offered by 55 Colmore Row are an ideal fit with our ambitions to continue expanding and developing the Savills brand. With a mix of office, meeting and collaborative working space, the new office also reflects the changing and flexible way in which we work.”

Paul Higman, director in the building and project consultancy team at Savills, added: “The project was delivered within a tight programme and to an exceptional standard, without compromising on design. The project team worked extremely closely together and in a communicative and cooperative manner to deliver a working environment that Savills Birmingham is very proud of.”

The move follows the recent announcement that Savills Birmingham has appointed Joe Shorney to head up the newly formed residential development sales team servicing the West Midlands. The department adds further value to the 21-strong development team in Birmingham, which works with housebuilders and other developer clients.
