Trust invests £1.3m in major refurbishment

The Solihull based Sir Josiah Mason Trust is spending £1.29m on a refurbishment project.

The Trust provides sheltered accommodation, residential care and extra care housing for over 200 people across the West Midlands.

The project is a full refurbishment of Mason House in Solihull to create 13 new double bedroom apartments.

This is the first major development undertaken by the 150 year old Trust in many years.

The new development also includes new frontage, a reception area , communal space and is planned to be finished by April 2019.

The chief executive of the Sir Josiah Mason Trust, David Healey, said: “The new frontage and refurbishment of our Mason House apartments will breathe fresh life into the scheme and allow us to help more people in the community.”

The apartments will be for rent and should be available early next year.

The contract has been awarded to Liverpool-based Novus Property Solutions.

Mark Foxall of Novus added: “Our work with the Sir Josiah Mason Trust will allow the charity to deliver an even greater level of service to its residents in Solihull. This is an exciting project for Novus and and we are looking forward to building on our relationship with Josiah Mason.”
