South Lanarkshire picks Sindall for £150m schools programme

CONSTRUCTION and infrastructure firm Morgan Sindall has been appointed to a £150m modernisation framework by South Lanarkshire Council.

The Rugby-based firm, part of Morgan Sindall Group, will be working on the council’s new-build and refurbishment programme for its primary schools estate.

It will join two other companies to construct 30 primary schools over a four-year period, part of a wider £850m primary schools modernisation programme which will see all 124 of the area’s primary schools rebuilt by 2016.

Morgan Sindall said today it had been working on the earlier phases of the South Lanarkshire primary schools modernisation programme since 2006, completing nine schools so far and on site with four others.

Group chief executive Paul Smith said: “This latest framework appointment is testament to the track record we have developed in the Scottish education market.”
