Air Arabia has announced the launch of a twice weekly direct service from Birmingham to the Moroccan city of Agadir from October 1.

Group CEO of Air Arabia, Abdel Al Ali said: “We are pleased to link Birmingham to our base in Agadir with direct weekly flights. Birmingham is the latest city to join Air Arabia Maroc’s ever growing destination network in the United Kingdom and Europe, offering customers a wider choice for affordable air travel.”

Agadir is a major tourist destination in Morocco, well known for its pleasant climate, especially in the winter time, and its 10km long beaches.

Tom Screen, acting aviation director at Birmingham Airport, said:”We are really pleased to welcome Air Arabia Maroc to Birmingham Airport. This new service to Agadir will be popular with holiday makers seeking sun and great beaches anytime of the year. Agadir is a gem on Moroccos’ coast line with spacious streets palm lined boulevards and stunning beaches and so it makes a great addition to the choice of destinations from our Midlands airport.”

Air Arabia Maroc was established in 2009, and it is part of the bigger Air Arabia Group. It currently operates flights to 53 European routes from six cities in Morocco: Casablanca, Fez, Tangier, Marrakech, Nador and Agadir.
