Planning secured for Worcestershire industrial estate

Plans for an industrial development in Cutnall Green in Worcestershire have been given the green light.

Acting on behalf of Potter Group Holdings, Harris Lamb’s business planning consultancy team prepared proposals to build new units, along with car parking, estate roads, a loading area and the associated infrastructure in Rushock and submitted them to Wychavon District Council.

Simon Hawley, who oversaw the application, said: “This site falls within an established employment area close to Cutnall Green. The wider site was a former MoD facility, with a number of the existing buildings dating back to the 1940’s. All the buildings on site of note are currently occupied and expansion space is required for existing and new occupiers.

“Over the next few years, our client intends to build five new industrial units, with a floor-space of circa 11,000 sq m, constructed along with support roads and approximately 90 car parking spaces, to enable the site to continue to thrive.”

Hawley said that while there had been some objection from local parish councils regarding increased traffic on the A442, visual impact and over-development of the countryside, planning officers had agreed that such a development fell within the legitimate restrictions of building within the green belt and that the buildings’ construction would be sensitive to the surrounding environment.
