Outline permission sought for Warwickshire housing scheme

The planned Catesby Estates development in Kenilworth

Outline plans have been submitted for the construction of up to 640 homes in Kenilworth, Warwickshire.

The Catesby Estates development is planned for a 76-acre site at Woodside Conference Centre, which is part of a wider area allocated in the Warwick Local Plan for residential development.

Around 250 homes will be affordable housing, while the Glass House Spinney, ancient woodland and a buried Roman villa will be retained and protected.

Ed Barrett, senior planning manager for Catesby Estates, said: “We held two public consultation events earlier this year and used the feedback from local residents to shape our final plans, which included reducing the maximum number of homes proposed from 690 to 640, provision of a new community hall and allotments along with a raft of highways improvements.”

The application will undergo a statutory consultation period before it goes before the Warwick District Council’s planning committee later this year.

If approved, the first residents could move in 2020.
