Housebuilder acquires 16 acre site for development

Housebuilder Redrow Homes has snapped up a 16.7 acre site in Telford for a scheme which will include 395 homes as well as public open spaces, play areas, footpaths and cycle links.

Redrow Homes Midlands will build the two, three and four-bedroom homes, including some apartments, situated in Priorslee.

The housebuilder says it has also committed more than £2.3m to support the community, with a focus on strengthening local education services.

The development, Abbey Walk, is situated less than two miles from Telford city centre.

Redrow Homes Midlands has committed over £1.2m to St George’s CE Primary School, on London Road, and towards a separate new primary education provision in Priorslee. Secondary school facilities will also be supported with over £400,000 to be contributed to Holy Trinity School.

In addition to providing support for local education services, Redrow Homes Midlands will be contributing towards a new bus service, bus stop improvements, contributions to highway improvements and the creation of a neighbourhood play facility at Teece Drive.

Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes Midlands, said: “We are excited to be building in Telford once again. Our homes have always proved incredibly popular in this region, and we’re thrilled to be able to provide homes for first-time buyers, growing families and down-sizers alike, as well as further cementing our reputation for creating thriving communities across the Midlands.”
