Images of Edgbaston’s first build-to-rent apartments released

Images of The Lansdowne, the first built-to-rent apartments delivered in Edgbaston, have been released.

The £37m development at 25 Hagley Road comprises 206 apartments – including 18 duplexes, each with its own private terrace.

The building, from property management company Way of Life, offers more than 10,000 sq ft of shared social spaces, including a lounge with big-screen entertainment facilities, a quiet room, a broadband-equipped workspace, a fitness studio and a rentable private party room and kitchen.

There is over and underground parking for 89 cars and high-security bike storage, complete with a repair station.

On-site services include a round-the-clock concierge, a dedicated handyman and a bespoke residents’ events programme.

The 18-storey development, built by Interserve, will be completed in April, with customers moving in from May onwards.

The Lansdowne is Birmingham’s second institutionally owned and managed built-to-rent development.

Sowgol Zarinchang, managing director of Way of Life, said: “The Lansdowne will be staffed by trained and skilled on-site teams who will operate the building efficiently and provide services more commonly associated with top hotels.

“The shared facilities and events programme are designed to encourage customers to come together, creating a sense of community you won’t find in a building with multiple landlords.”

The Lansdowne is close to Five Ways, next to Tricorn House and opposite the Marriott Hotel.

Zarinchang said: “Edgbaston is one of Birmingham’s most desirable addresses, providing easy access to the city centre and University/hospital campus, the amenities of Broad Street, Brindleyplace and Edgbaston Village, and green spaces such as Edgbaston Reservoir and the Botanical Gardens.

“This area of the Hagley Road was formerly associated with offices but is being rapidly transformed in to a new residential neighbourhood, with Calthorpe’s New Garden Square and the Metro extension set to elevate the area even further.”
