Industrial supplies firm prepares for expansion with relocation

A Black Country industrial supplies company is preparing for major expansion after relocating into new premises with three times the space for stock.

Alpha MG, which has been supplying engineering tools, fasteners, safety wear, carbon and stainless steel pipe and fittings for the last 30 years, has relocated from Wednesfield to Unit 30 on the Strawberry Lane Industrial Estate in Willenhall.

Karl Harris, manager at Alpha MG, said the 3,000 sq ft space meant the company could now gear up for sales growth, while the new premises is well located to attract passing trade.

He said: “We’re really pleased with our new base here at Strawberry Lane and are very grateful to Bulleys for all their assistance in helping us to move here.

“It’s in a much better location on a drive-through estate, and the bigger space will enable us to achieve our plan of having a trade counter and room for three times more stock.”

Harris, whose father first launched the business in the 1990s, added: “Think of us like an industrial version of Screwfix – and we are now in the process of creating banners to push our offering, although we’re already attracting new customers and hope to see substantial growth in the next year.”

Edward Jenkinson, agency surveyor at Bulleys, who arranged the deal, said: “We’re delighted that Alpha MG are happy in their new base and we wish them every success with their ongoing expansion.

“It’s always exciting to play a little part in the growth of local, family-owned companies and we felt sure that Strawberry Lane would be a great place for them to launch their business into its next stage.”

Bulleys let Unit 30 off an asking price of £15,000 a year and used Jennings Perks Solicitors in the lease process, while Alpha MG were represented by Rowland Tildesley and Harris Solicitors.
