The type of houses that Redrow will be building at its Houlton development

Redrow is to begin work on a 248-home development that is part of a planned 1,200-acre transformation of land in Rugby.

The site at Houlton is part of a wider 15-year masterplan for 6,200 homes were Rugby Radio Station and its forest of masts once stood. The joint venture is between master developers Urban&Civic and Aviva Investors.

Richard Coppell, development director for Urban&Civic said: “We are delighted to be opening a new part of Houlton for housing and welcoming a fourth house-builder at the same time as opening the new links road to Rugby town centre and the railway station.”

Houlton is already home to over 120 families, living in the first phase of development off the Crick Road in Rugby.

Redrow Homes Midlands has acquired a 22-acre site where the housebuilder will be building two, three, four and five-bedroom homes.

Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes Midlands, said: “We are excited to be joining the community that is already growing at Houlton.”
