Growth plans heat up for thermal labels company with new HQ

A Redditch-based thermal labels business is planning to double sales after moving to new headquarters.

Thermal Transfer Solutions has taken Unit 27 at the Manorside Industrial Estate, enabling it to move out of its former home at the IO Centre at Park Farm North and expand.

Managing director Jason Asser said: “We have ambitious plans to increase our sales from £5m to £10m over the next three years, as we grow our workforce from 32 to 44 people.

“Around 40% of our sales are exports, mainly to Europe, and that has been a real area of growth for the company. But we were constrained by a lack of space. We went looking and found the premises at Manorside.”

Thermal Transfer Solutions manufactures and supplies consumables such as the ribbons used for industrial printing of the labels fond in electrical products, on clothing and other consumer products.

It operates alongside a sister company, Thermal Printer Support, which sells printing machinery and provides maintenance services.

Asser started the business 12 years ago.

He said: “At the beginning there was just me – ordering, making and selling our products – in a corner of the IO Centre. It’s all grown from there.

“But we had outgrown the centre and that has constrained our growth in recent years. With our new premises we are looking at exciting times ahead.”

Ian Parker of property agents John Truslove secured the 12,250 sq ft unit for Thermal Transfer Solutions on a rent of £64,500 for ten years from landlord Paloma Capital.

Joanne Bligh of Thinking Legal acted for Thermal Transfer Solutions.

Parker said: “Thermal Transfer Solutions are a company with ambition, and we at John Truslove take pride in helping businesses just like this take the next step on their journey. The right premises are crucial to any company’s success, and we look forward to seeing Thermal Transfer Solutions thriving at Manorside.”
