More than 50,000 sq ft of speculatively built industrial units completed

J Tomlinson has completed construction of more than 50,000 sq ft of industrial units at a trade park in Evesham, Worcestershire.

The £2.6m design and build project, delivered on behalf of Birmingham-based property investment and development company Hortons’ Estates, was unveiled to potential investors at an opening ceremony at Asparagus Point.

Works started on site in August last year and comprised construction of a 39,000 sq ft L-shaped, eight-unit terrace and a standalone 15,000 sq ft commercial building.

Terraced unit sizes range from 3,415 sq ft to up to 21,215 sq ft if combined.

The development is also set to welcome its first occupier, with storage and removals company Squab acquiring the freehold of one of the units in 2017.  The unit was purpose-built for Squab, who will be opening its third operation in spring.

Darroch Baker, construction director at J Tomlinson, said: “It was a pleasure to work closely with Hortons’ to deliver this high-quality, modern commercial new-build project. J Tomlinson has a strong presence in the West Midlands and were able to draw upon the resources offered by our local support office in Canwell, Sutton Coldfield, to ensure the success of the project.

“We hope that future occupants of the new units thrive within their new location.”

Richard Norgrove, property director at Hortons’, said: “Industrial space in Evesham is in short supply. As a consequence, we are enjoying strong interest in these speculatively-built units.”
